Application Method

Requirements for the substrate

  • Limited dimensionally stable wooden construction elements and dimensionally unstable timber components: the maximum permissible timber moisture content is 18%.

Preparations

  • Completely remove old coatings (e.g. paints or medium-build stains), bark, bast and dirt.
  • Remove loose and torn knots as well as resin that bleeds and clean with a suitable product (e.g. V 101 thinner, thinner & brush cleaner).
  • Smooth, planed wood surfaces should be sanded and dusted before the coating is applied to ensure better absorption.
  • Observe BFS Code of Practice No. 18 "Coatings on Wood and Wooden Working Materials in Outdoor Areas".

Conditions of use

  • The temperature of the material, the environment and the substrate should be between +5 ° C and +25 ° C
  • Paint with a brush
  • Apply in the direction of the wood grain.
  • After drying, apply a second coat.
  • Tampered packaging should be carefully closed and the contents used up as soon as possible.

Performance Tips

  • By making trial surfaces, the compatibility of the material with the substrate and adhesion must be checked.
  • When applying further layers of other paint materials, it is recommended to check the adhesion.
  • In the case of wood species with a high content of water-soluble tannins, such as oak, red cedar, afcelia, redwood etc., precipitation may cause their washing away. This may result in discoloration on light-colored masonry or plaster.
  • The lower surfaces of the front cuts of the wood should be trimmed to obtain a drip.

Drying

  • Approximately 12 hours at 20 ° C and 65% relative air humidity.
  • Low temperatures, poor ventilation and high air humidity extend the drying process.
  • Depending on the type of wood (e.g. larch), the drying time may take longer.

Dilution

  • The material is delivered ready for use

Tools/cleaning

  • Natural bristle brush
  • Clean tools immediately after use with "Brush cleaner, thinner" (Art. 1345)
  • Dispose of dirty liquid in accordance with the regulations.

Storage/ Shelf Life

  • In a carefully closed package, in a dry and cool place out of the reach of children, protected against direct sunlight and frost, in well-ventilated rooms. Smoking is not allowed in these rooms.
