CAPAROL CAPACRYL Holzschutz-Grund Primer

Description

For impregnating priming coats on dimensionally stable wood, e.g. windows and doors.
For wood/wooden parts with limited dimensional stability, e.g. shutters, gates, panelling with tongue and groove, framework, etc., and for wooden parts of unstable shape, e.g. fences, shingles, balustrades, pergolas, etc.
Only for exterior use. For protection of exterior wood/timber -not being subjected to static loads and having no contact to the ground- from decay and blue stain. Front doors and windows are allowed to be all-side protected with Capacryl Holzschutz-Grund.

Requirements for the substrate

Uncoated, dimensionally stable wood, wood with limited dimensional stability and wooden parts of unstable shape.
The substrate must be clean, sound/stable, dry, and free from all substances that may prevent good adhesion. The moisture content in dimensionally stable wood (WMC) must not exceed 13 %. Limited dimensionally stable wood and wooden parts of unstable shape: max. 15 %. Basic principles of wood preservation for constructions must be followed. They are a premise for long-lasting wood preservation with coating materials.Substances of content in some types of wood, e.g. larch, oak, tropical wood or other hardwood may lead to delayed drying. Typical substances: Tanning agents, dyestuffs/colourants/pigments, oils/waxes and natural resins/rosins.

Preparations

Sand/grind surfaces in the direction of fibres, clean thoroughly, remove all seeping substances of content, e.g. resins/rosins and resin-galls, cut sharp edges.

      Quality grade

Grade A+  (the best possible grade)
This is virtually a clear grade timber, providing a clean, consistent, almost knot-free look combined with excellent durability.
          • Graded to BS1186-3 Part 4 Class 1; each board is practically centre pith free, one face will be sap free
          • Further hand-selection of clearest grade boards which meet stringent criteria; tight live knots with a maximum 12mm diameter and a maximum of two knots per metre on average over the total length of boards
          • As Siberian Larch is imported to the UK in board form, to avoid unsightly surface finishes such as circular-saw marks, paint / grease marks and compression marks from steel securing bands
          • Kiln-dried to moisture content of approximately 16-18% (+/- 2%)
          • End checks permitted not longer than 1.5 times width of board
          • Best available grades in Europe and guarantee that your order will not contain any commonly available, lower quality grades such B or BC
